National Campaign for the Fight Against Illiteracy- 20 fr

Following Morocco's independence in 1956, King Mohammed V launched the first nationwide literacy campaign (Lutte contre l'analphabétisme / محاربة الأمية) to rapidly expand basic education, adult literacy, and vocational training across urban and rural populations. Tens of thousands of volunteer instructors and students mobilized across the country to teach reading, writing, and civic skills in community centers and public spaces. Issued in April 1956 by the postal administration of Morocco (MAROC / المغرب الأقصى), this 10-franc commemorative postage stamp (POSTES / 10F / البريد / LUTTE contre l'ANALPHABETISME / محاربة الأمية) honors the National Literacy Campaign.
