Hassan Tower - 30 centime
belongs to the landmark definitive series issued during World War II following the Allied liberation of North Africa (Operation Torch). Printed in Algiers under the authority of the French Committee of National Liberation (CFLN), this emergency series was produced to replace dwindling stamp stocks after maritime and postal links with mainland Vichy France were entirely cut. The visual composition beautifully celebrates Morocco’s rich architectural patrimony, framed by elegant Moorish arches and traditional geometric motifs. , the central vignette depicts the iconic Hassan Tower (Tour Hassan) in Rabat, the famous red sandstone minaret left incomplete after the death of the Almohad Caliph Yaqub al-Mansur in 1199. By showcasing this soaring historical monument alongside the bilingual state inscriptions , the stamp proudly projected Morocco’s enduring cultural identity and historical depth to a global audience. Today, it remains a highly collected piece among specialists in North African philately and World War II postal history.
